Every organization has a founding story, and ours starts with a fairly simple, shared conviction among a group of Kasarani residents: that too many neighbours, widows managing alone, elderly people isolated, young people without guidance, were being overlooked, not through anyone's fault in particular, but because no organised effort existed to notice and respond.

What began as informal conversations turned into occasional visits to widows and elderly neighbours, then into a shared realisation that lasting impact would need more than good intentions applied inconsistently. It would need structure, a clear mission, and the legal standing to partner properly with health facilities, schools and government departments.

That realisation led directly to the Constitution adopted on 20 February 2024 and registration as a CBO a couple of weeks later. The name Agape was chosen deliberately, reflecting a belief our founding members held plainly: that selfless love isn't just a sentiment, it's a practice, and a community organised well can do a great deal to make that practice real.
