Our clean-up work began in central Kasarani, but Zimmerman is the latest neighbouring area to join our monthly rotation, after a group of residents reached out asking whether we could bring the same effort to their own drainage points and public spaces.
Environmental cleanliness is named directly in our Constitution's objectives, and we treat it as connected to health rather than separate from it: dumped waste and blocked drainage create exactly the conditions that drive the illnesses our health days are trying to prevent.
Each area on the rotation gets a dedicated clean-up roughly once a month, timed to prevent the kind of build-up that turns a manageable clean-up into a much larger one. We're open to adding further neighbouring areas as volunteer capacity allows.
