Of everything covered at our community health days, hygiene basics, handwashing at key moments, safe water storage, basic food hygiene, remain the simplest interventions with the clearest evidence behind them, and among the least expensive to promote.
Sessions pair a short, practical demonstration with a plain explanation of why it matters: reducing the spread of illness in households, particularly among young children and elderly residents whose immunity is often lower. We distribute basic soap where budgets allow, since advice without the means to act on it doesn't accomplish much.
These remain some of our most requested sessions, particularly from mothers' groups, because the payoff is immediate and visible: fewer sick days, fewer clinic visits, and a habit that spreads through a household well beyond the session itself.
